Controlled release for longer workability

ZJ-PCE102 is described as having moderate initial cement dispersion and sustained slump-retention performance. The supplied technical sheet states a 2–4 hour retention window, making it suitable for evaluation where transport time, ambient temperature or extended placement increases slump-loss risk.

The grade is also intended for blending with water-reducing flake-form PCE, especially when the concrete materials contain higher powder or clay levels. Initial and later-age workability must both be tested with the actual cementitious system.

ZJ-PCE102 specification

Values are based on the supplied product technical sheet and manufacturer-confirmed formulation information. Retention time is application-dependent and must be verified through timed concrete trials.

Where ZJ-PCE102 is evaluated

Long-distance ready-mix transport

For projects where delivery time creates a larger-than-acceptable loss of workability.

Hot-weather concreting

For timed trials under elevated temperatures that accelerate slump loss and change setting behavior.

Mass and hydraulic concrete

For extended placement windows in pumped, self-compacting, precast, mass or hydraulic concrete.

Blend to the required retention curve

  • • ZJ-PCE102 is recommended for blending with water-reducing flake-form PCE such as ZJ-PCE101.
  • • The flakes may be dissolved to prepare a mother-liquor solution with 50% solids for downstream formulation.
  • • Start within the stated 0.1–0.5% solids-basis range and test initial slump plus the complete required retention period.
  • • A small amount of set-control admixture may be evaluated where adjustment of setting time is needed.
  • • Do not blend with naphthalene-based superplasticizers; verify compatibility with every other admixture before use.

Storage and purchasing information

Store dry and ventilated at 2–35°C, protected from direct sunlight and rain. Keep separated from other admixture types. Material beyond the 12-month shelf life should be retested before use.
